Context

Inequality and exclusion are roadblocks to progress. They deprive sections of people from opportunities to perform and grow. Success of diversity in the workplace is incumbent on the quality of inclusive education as well as the societal culture and norms.

D&I initiatives at the corporate level sometimes don't yield results commensurate with the efforts. Diversity education in the classroom leads to students’ increased cultural understanding, gratitude & empathy, stronger critical thinking skills and enhanced creativity, which all better prepare them for challenges ahead.

Diversity and Inclusion is not just about hiring differently abled, economically disempowered, or ones with different sexual preferences. It is about growing up appreciating the power and importance of diversity and seeing that as a norm rather than as tokenism. It is imperative that we bring Inclusion to the front seat and make Sustainable Development Goal 4- Quality Education, Goal 5- Gender Equality and Goal 10- Equal Opportunities a priority.
